You can use anything that can be serialized to a JSON dictionary as a payload. This is the information that you want stored in the token. Encode or Decode JWTs Paste a JWT and decode its header, payload, and signature, or provide header, payload, and signature information to generate a JWT. The jwt.encode() function has three arguments of which the most important is the first, containing the token payload. First, lets split up the token into its sections: String chunks token.split ( '.' ) We should note that the regular expression passed to String.split uses an escaped ‘. Create a virtual environment, and install pyjwt in it: (venv) $ pip install pyjwt This information can be verified and trusted because it is digitally signed. JSON Web Token (JWT) is an open standard (RFC 7519) that defines a compact and self-contained way for securely transmitting information between parties as a JSON object. In case you are not familiar with JWTs, let me first show you how to work with them using Python with the pyjwt package. Online JWT Decoder JWT stands for JSON Web Token.
